The Elance Cellars 2018 Chardonnay from the Central Coast of California starts with aromas of Meyer lemon, guava and ripe pineapple. Rich flavors of brown sugar, vanilla and toasted oak take over the finish. This Chardonnay received contact with oak to help the aging process, which over time marries the tannins from the fruit and the oak.

The Sun Fish 2018 Malvasia Bianca was produced with grapes from coastal Southern California which receive the cooling influence of the Pacific Ocean during the growing season. The nose offers a combination of floral and fruity aromas. In no particular order, there are notes of lime, apricot, lemon, peach, honeysuckle, lychee and grapefruit. This wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks without any oak influence. The mouth has a smooth attack with a dominance of citrus offering a little lift toward the end in the finish.

In the nose, there is an abundance of fresh, intense dark fruit, like blackberry, black cherry or black currant. Later, smoky and balsamic characters present themselves. There is a good amount of intensity in the attack from this dry, red wine. In the mid-palate, some smoky, almost meaty tones develop. Oak tannins anchor the structure all the way to the finish.
The wine is pleasant, juicy and round, and will pair well with roasted chicken, pork tenderloin or grilled pork chops.

This wine is round and lush in the attack and there is a short to medium intensity in the mouthfeel. Straightforward, sweet citrus characters is what it’s all about for this blush rosé.
